How my journey began

Starbucks. I definitely didn’t expect this job to be more than extra money, but it turned out to be quite career defining. Watch the Sunday morning rush at a downtown city store and you’ll understand how my passion for people, process and systems began.

My human resources career launched at The Advisory Board Company and spanned across many industries including technology, e-commerce, finance, professional services and energy. Start-ups gave me the opportunity to do pretty much everything in the HR space - Talent Acquisition, People Operations & Compliance, Total Rewards & Benefits, Learning & Development and HR Business Partnership. I’ve managed small teams, large teams, and been a one-woman show and have always been known to roll up my sleeves and do what it takes to cross the threshold to success.

I’m excited to take these experiences and and share them more broadly with organizations who want to have an impact, make a true difference, and leave a lasting legacy.

What People Are Saying

Nicole is, without question, one of the best people and culture partners I've ever had a chance to work with. As our first dedicated HR leader, she navigated the team across the organization through the turbulence one should expect as an early stage venture navigated the highs and lows of chaotic growth. I can't think of a single situation we threw at her that she didn't handle with care, empathy, and confidence. For individual employees, she was a confidant and personal coach (in fact, she still is regularly in touch with many current and former team members). On the executive team, she was critical in improving team cohesion and effectiveness. Our mission was a greater success because of her.

Great HR professionals are like the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. They've perfected the art of recruiting and retaining talent, and all the nuances in between, often with little acknowledgement of their role supporting managers to grow and retain their teams. So i want to give a very big THANK YOU to Nicole Crowley and her team. She keeps our sales organization running as part recruiter, policy advisor, therapist, and confidante. And she gets that our people are our most important asset!

Nicole is instrumental to every senior leader and to an organization seeking to succeed in people management. Her strategic guidance, coaching, and mentoring from c-suite to rising talent, is paramount to the success of an organization. I have been doubly impressed with Nicole's role as a strategic advisor - providing a unique lens, assessment, and invaluable coaching through a myriad of situations. Nicole has sourced top talent in every business function and provided guidance to hiring managers on recruiting and retaining top talent. Nicole always moves the needle forward from implementing new team-building initiatives to pushing you to think outside the box. After working closely with Nicole, you soon realize that she is one of the best investments any leader and organization can make.
